HEALTH & NUTRITION

Many children around the world remain disadvantaged in their school experiences either through inadequate teaching materials, lack of sanitation facilities, lack of food, discrimination, harassment and even violence. These conditions are not conducive to learning or development, and no chil should have to experience them.
For young girls, education is both an intrinsic right and a critical lever to reaching other development objectives. Providing girls with an education helps break the cycle of poverty; educated women are less likely to marry early and against their will, less likely to die in childbirth, more likely to have healthy babies, and are more likely to send their children to school.
When all children have access to a quality education rooted in human rights and genderequality, it creates a ripple effect of opportunity that influences generations to come. Our education program is geared towards addressing the high rate of dropouts for school going children in our target communities.

Our Gallery

“In the heart of Somalia, where decades of conflict and natural disasters have disrupted livelihoods, education stands as a beacon of hope. IFTIIN Education & Development (IFED), a nonprofit organization founded by Somali diaspora in 2006, has been dedicated to restoring education, improving livelihoods, and empowering communities to shape their own futures.

Our Strategic Goals

Recognizing the urgent need for accessible and quality education, IFED has worked tirelessly to construct and rehabilitate schools, provide learning materials, and offer free education to thousands of children and adults. Beyond education, the organization has spearheaded initiatives in clean water provision, food security, healthcare, and vocational training, ensuring that vulnerable communities have the tools to break the cycle of poverty.
Through collaboration with local and international partners, IFED has fostered community-driven solutions, strengthened institutions, and advocated for inclusivity in education—especially for girls and children with disabilities. By supporting youth empowerment programs, peacebuilding efforts, and climate resilience initiatives, IFED is not only addressing immediate needs but also laying the foundation for long-term stability and progress.
Together, we can stand in solidarity with the communities of Somalia, ensuring that education and sustainable development remain at the forefront of change. By investing in knowledge, empowerment, and resilience, we are building a brighter future for generations to come.”
