Our Strategic Goals

“IFTIIN Education & Development (IFED), a nonprofit founded by the Somali diaspora in 2006, is committed to restoring education and empowering communities in Somalia. Recognizing the critical need for accessible and quality education, IFED has built and rehabilitated schools, provided learning materials, and offered free education to thousands of children and adults. Education serves as a beacon of hope in a country where conflict and natural disasters have disrupted livelihoods for decades.
Beyond education, IFED has expanded its efforts to address essential needs such as clean water access, food security, healthcare, and vocational training. By equipping vulnerable communities with the necessary tools and resources, the organization helps break the cycle of poverty and foster self-sufficiency. These initiatives ensure that people not only receive an education but also gain the skills and support needed for a sustainable future.
Through collaboration with local and international partners, IFED promotes inclusive education—especially for girls and children with disabilities—while also supporting youth empowerment, peacebuilding, and climate resilience initiatives. By investing in knowledge, empowerment, and sustainable development, IFED is laying the foundation for long-term stability and progress in Somalia, ensuring a brighter future for generations to come.”

After decades of political instability, going to school is still a dream that is out of reach for many children.

For many children in Somalia, the meal they get at school is the only meal they get in a day.

Teacher Training

We provide teachers training as they are key to the delivery of quality education in Somalia.

Clean Water For All

Clean water helps to keep children in school. And allows girls to attend classes instead of fetching water.
